LEWISTON — A local woman was hurt Monday afternoon when she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Old Greene Road, Lewiston police said.
Heaven Dow, 21, was crossing near Sabattus Street when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Debra Roy of Lewiston, according to Sgt. Dan LaChance.
“She walked in between parked cars waiting for a light. As she crossed the street, a vehicle turning off Sabattus on the Old Greene Road didn’t see her,” LaChance said. “It was not the driver’s fault,” he said.
Dow’s head was bleeding, police said. She was transported to Central Maine Medical Center.
The accident is under investigation.
