KINGFIELD — The town will hold a History Fair at Kingfield Elementary School from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8.

Students have prepared displays under the guidance of Tammy Goldfrank.

Twenty-three businesses will display their histories from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, as part of the Business History open house.

Checklists for attendees are available and can be validated and returned at the Nostalgia Tavern between 12:30 and 7 p.m. to be entered to win three prize baskets.

A beard-growing contest will be held at 7 p.m., followed by the Lumberjack Ball. Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: Most creative, longest, softest, best mustache and best goatee. Preregistration is not required.

The Lumberjack Ball will feature the Portland-based Tilden Katz Band starting at 9 p.m.
