BATH — Local musicians will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, as part of The Native Are Restless concert at the Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St.
Each group or individual will perform several songs and then provide complete instrumentation and backing harmonies to each other’s songs.
The genesis of this evening began more than 10 years ago when everyone played and sang on each other’s work as a kind of community barn raising. The tradition continues this year with Kathleen McGhee, Tim Rice, The Liz Lannon Band, The Leopard Girls, Red Beans and Rice, and Stan Davis. The lineup includes Cilantro with Earl Bigelow, who started Natives Are Restless in 2005 based on the desire of the performers to play the Chocolate Church.
Tickets cost $12 in advance; $15 at the door. They are available online at www.chocolatechurcharts.com or by calling 207-442-8455. Proceeds benefit the Chocolate Church Arts Center.
