LIVERMORE — The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, 290 Norlands Road, will host its Spring Fling Living History Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23.

The event will offer an array of family-friendly activities, including tours of the original 1867 Washburn mansion, farmer’s cottage and one-room schoolhouse; interaction with historical characters from the 1800s; and horse-drawn wagon rides around the grounds.

Attendees can learn about daily farm life by helping bake cookies, churn butter, or with laundry. Mrs. Howard, the schoolmarm, will help participants practice their penmanship, spelling and arithmetic as if it were 1853. There will be children’s games and craft activities under the tent on the front lawn. Light refreshments will be available.

Admission costs $10; $6 for ages 12 and younger; $25 for families. Those who sign up as Norlands members will receive a 20 percent discount on admission fees.
