LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is offering its next LA Law Legal Advisory Workshop from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the chamber, 415 Lisbon St.

The topic is Construction Law in Maine — Know Your Rights as a Homeowner and Responsibilities as a General or Subcontractor.

From the beginning stages of negotiating construction contracts to the final punch list for project completion, there are many legal issues that may arise. Various Maine construction laws protect homeowners or project owners, and other laws provide lien rights and payment protections for contractors, subcontractors, vendors, equipment suppliers and others involved with residential and commercial construction ventures.

Attorney Sonia Buck, a partner with law firm Linnell, Choate & Webber, LL, will discuss Maine construction laws and their impact on the typical parties to a construction deal. Attendees will also leave with forms and resources they can refer to in the future.

Cost is $25 for members, $50 for nonmembers. For more information or to register, call 207-783-2249 or go to: https://lametrochamber.com/ and click on “Events.”
