Beware of phone calls that look like they’re coming from the Federal Grants Administration.
They’re not.
This is one of the top 10 scams reported to the U.S. Senate Aging Committee, according to the AARP Fraud Watch Network.
Scammers call stating they are from the Federal Grants Administration or the Federal Grants Department, claiming you are entitled to a “free grant.”
They ask you to wire money to them for processing fees. They say that as soon as they receive the money to cover the fees, your “free grant” will be sent directly to you.
Don’t be fooled — these agencies don’t exist.
