LIVERMORE FALLS — The Regional School Unit 73 school board Thursday approved and signed warrants for assessments from Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls for the fiscal year beginning July 1.

The amounts are:

• Jay, $8.60 million;

• Livermore, $1.89 million; and

• Livermore Falls, $1.63 million.

The $18.92 million school budget for 2016-17 was narrowly passed by voters Tuesday. Adult education makes up $120,000 of that amount, with each town responsible for $40,000.

In other business Thursday, the board approved three additional early-release Fridays for the elementary schools to give teachers time to work out details on restructuring of those schools.

Students attending Jay Elementary School and Livermore Elementary School will be released early on May 6 and 20 and June 10.

The school board voted earlier this year to combine all students in the elementary grades. Beginning next fall, students in pre-kindergarten through grade 2 will be taught at the Livermore school, which will be renamed Spruce Mountain Primary School.

Students in grades 3-5 will be taught at the Jay school, to be renamed Spruce Mountain Elementary School.
