Lexi Poulin, Jordan Mynahan and Danielle Cyr each had three htis for Lewiston. For Mt. Blue, Kayleigh Fontaine had two hits and Macey Phillips tripled.
Lewiston’s Megan Theriault got the win in the circle. The Blue Devils had 15 hits for the day.
Erskine Academy 3, Leavitt 2
SOUTH CHINA — Mallory Chamberland helped her own cause in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run single to help lead the Erskine Academy Eagles to the 3-2 victory over the Leavitt Hornets (3-3).
She picked up the win after going the distance. She allowed seven hits and added a strikeout. She was the lone Eagle to have two hits.
Erskine’s third run came off an error.
Angela Diagle had two doubles and an RBI for Leavitt
Kaitlyn DeBlois and Cierra Hilliard had two singles for the Hornets (3-3).
Telstar 10, Hall-Dale 3
BETHEL — Senior short stop Becca Howard collected three hits to lead Telstar to a 10-3 victory over Hall-Dale in softball action Friday afternoon.
The Rebels (6-0) led 7-0 after just two innings. Ashley Savage contributed two hits and scored twice for Telstar.
Dharma Damon made a spectacular running catch in left field for the Rebels to prevent an early rally by Hall-Dale.
Becca Ackerson had a pair of hits and scored once for the Bulldogs (3-3),
Dirigo 13, Wiscasset 1
DIXFIELD — Ashley Perreault belted a home run and crossed the plate on three ocassions to lead Dirigo to a commanding 13-1 victory over Wiscasset in softball action Friday afternoon.
The Cougars jumped out to a 10-1 lead after two innings. Emma Lueders chipped in with two hits, including a double, while Mariah Lafleur posted two hits as well for Dirigo.
Syndie Thayer and Leah Potter tallied one hit each, while Potter notched the only RBI in the game for the Wolverines.
Carrabec 11, Mountain Valley 4
NORTH ANSON — Senior third baseman Liberty Chestnut registered two hits and three RBIs to lead Carrabec to an 11-4 victory over Mountain Valley in softball action Friday afternoon.
The Cobras (3-3) upped the ante with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to push a the lead to eight runs. Bailey Dunphy chipped in with a 2-for-2 outing, including two runs batted in.
Jordyn Turner paced the Falcons (2-2) with two hits and knocked in a run.
Yarmouth 12, Poland 4
YARMOUTH — Colleen Sullivan swatted three singles to lead Yarmouth to a 12-4 victory over Poland in softball action Firday night.
Cate Ralph launched a home run for the Clippers. Yarmouth responded to the Knights’ four runs in the top of the sixth with one in the bottom and four in the next frame.
Poland starter Tori Tibbett left after two-thirds of an inning due to an injury and was relieved by Morgan Brousseau, who pitched the remainder of the game.
Baseball
Mountain Valley 8, Carrabec 5
NORTH ANSON — Senior pitcher Tim Fitzgerald struck out six as Mountain Valley notched an 8-5 victory over Carrabec in baseball action Friday afternoon.
The Falcons (1-4) led 5-0 after three innings. Jon Adley had two hits and three runs batted in for Mountain Valley.
Evan Holdswroth had four solid innings in relief for the Cobras (3-3).
Edward Little 13, Oxford Hills 6
PARIS — Junior pitcher Jarod Norcross-Plourde performed exceptionally on offense with five hits, four runs and three RBIs as Edward Little secured a 13-6 victory over Oxford Hills in baseball action Friday afternoon.
Senior second baseman Drew Lashua provided a whopping six runs batted in for the Red Eddies (7-0). Edward Little pulled away with the bulk of their hits and runs between the fifth and seventh innings.
Short stop Jake Spinhirn delivered two hits, including a double, and two runs for the Vikings (4-3).
Mt. Blue 11, Lewiston 1
FARMINGTON — Kenny Williamson furnished with three hits as Mt. Blue dispatched Lewiston, 11-1, in baseball action Friday afternoon.
The Cougars (1-6) began to turn up the offense in the fourth inning.
After closing out the third inning with a 1-1 tie, Mt. Blue added a run in the fourth and another three in the fifth. But they exploded for six runs in the bottom of the sixth frame and notched the win on the 10-run rule.
Pitcher Gordon Beckwith was relieved by Evan Cox in the fifth inning for the Blue Devils.
Erskine 5, Leavitt 4
SOUTH CHINA — Going into the seventh and down by two runs, Erskine issued three singles to tie the game, but Leavitt eventually bolted down a 5-4 win on a balk to end the game in baseball action Friday afternoon.
Luke Peabody slapped a single to right field to plate a pair of Eagles in the bottom of the seventh and later score the game-winner on the balk.
Lucas Perry went 3-for-4 for the Hornets.
Yarmouth 13, Poland 6
YARMOUTH — Catcher Jack Snyder generated three hits for Yarmouth as the Clippers downed Poland 13-6 in baseball action Friday afternoon.
The Clippers racked up seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take an 11-2 lead. Conor O’Donnell cracked a double and posted a pair of singles for Yarmouth.
Jake Wiseman had two doubles, while Evan Gallagher added a pair of singles for the Knights.
Oceanside 18, Spruce Mountain 7
THOMASTON — Titus Kaewthong ripped three hits, including two doubles, and drove in five as Oceanside exploded for 18 runs in an 18-7 victory over Spruce Mountain in baseball action Friday afternoon.
Jake Bartlett pitched five innings without allowing an earned run to pick up the win for the Mariners (5-1). Riley Sprague and Hunter Davis each had three hits, while Nick Mazurek added a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Nate Goodine collected two hits, including a double, and drove in a run for the Phoenix (2-4).
Boys’ lacrosse
Lewiston 14, Oxford Hills 5
LEWISTON — Jayden Wilson led the way for Lewiston High School with four goals and two assists in a 14-5 victory over the Oxford Hills Vikings in KVAC lacrosse action.
Garret Poussard had a hat trick, while Alex Rivet had a pair of goals and four assists.
The Blue Devils (5-1) demonstrated their depth when five players each scored a goal. Brandon Croteau, Mohamed Khalid, Jacob McBride, Nick Tilley and Darius Phillips all got on the board.
Finn Williamson had a hat trick for the Vikings (2-4), while Kelton Loper and Deven Rogers.
