The class of ’91 sang loud and clear at graduation Thursday: “The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round, ’round and ’round . . .” They were 40 preschoolers, gathered in a circle to receive certificates from Hillview Head Start Center, Lewiston. As they sang, their families listened — and took photos — with obvious pride. “They’ve learned a lot here,” remarked Marie Samson, whose 4-year-old son, John, was among the graduates. Her daughter, Amanda, now in kindergarten, attended the preschool program last year. “J.D. has learned the alphabet, numbers, a lot of songs,” Samson said. “They let the kids serve themselves lunch, and they pick up after themselves — that’s helped me a lot at home, to know what he can do for himself. And he’s learned how to be independent and share with others.”
