Training on deep listening at Auburn UU
AUBURN — Auburn UU is hosting trainings for deep listening to voters. Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund will help participants improve their skills in asking open-ended questions about abortion and listening without judgment.
The training will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at First Universalist Church of Auburn, 169 Pleasant St. People will learn more about the campaign and have additional discussion about its goals.
A full-day training and voter canvass will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the church. Participants will learn how to have conversations by watching actual interview tapes, and then go out in the community to speak with voters. Those interested in canvassing need only attend the day of the canvass to participate.

First Auburn Seniors to meet
AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will have a regular meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18. The board meeting will take place at 10 a.m.
A memorial service will be observed. Those attending should bring a bag lunch. Bingo will be place after lunch.
The group held its 53rd anniversary party on May 4 at Martindale Country Club.

Color the night away
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will color the night away at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.
Participants can spend a few hours at the library coloring the night away. The library will have a variety of coloring pages as well as colored pencils, markers and crayons.
The event is open to teens and adults. All supplies are provided, but participants may bring their own.

Dum Bum performing at dance
AUBURN — A dance with live music by Dum Bum will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 20, at American Legion, William J. Rogers Post 153, 71 South Main St.
Members, friends and guests are welcome.
Intergalactic Yurt Band in Danville
DANVILLE — The Intergalactic Yurt Band will host its annual concert at 7 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Danville Junction Grange.
Proceeds benefit the grange’s Dictionary Fund. Dictionaries are distributed each year to local third-graders. Last year, over 400 dictionaries were presented.
Homemade pies and beverages will be for sale during intermission. A $5 donation is suggested. The public is invited.
Republican committee supper May 20
LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Republican Committee will hold its annual Lincoln Day Dinner and Auction Friday, May 20, at the Franco Center.
The event will include a meal, auction and speakers Gov. Paul LePage and Congressman Bruce Poliquin.

Personal Onsite Development yard sale
AUBURN — Personal Onsite Development, which provides community services for adults with intellectual disabilities., will hold a yard sale from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at 410 Summer St.
A handmade quilt will be raffled off with tickets going on sale at the yard sale. The drawing will be held on July 1.
Proceeds will support community programs for the people the organization serves.
