NEW GLOUCESTER —

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said around 11:15 a.m. Saturday a car driven by Hassan Aden, 21, of Portland was traveling north when he failed to see a vehicle stopped in the northbound lane waiting to make a left hand turn.

Aden crossed the center line to avoid the stopped vehicle and crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by David Dyer, 67, of Gray. Gray and his passenger, Sharon Dulac, 66, of Gray were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Aden and his passenger, Daga Abdullahi, 43, of Portland were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

The accident remains under investigation.
