BERLIN, N.H. — Camerata New England will play from the repertoires of Bach and Beethoven at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at the St. Kieran Community Center for the Arts, 155 Emery St.

Camerata New England is a highly esteemed professional chamber ensemble that draws musicians from throughout the Northeast. It is well-known for its expertise, musicality, approachability and gift for bringing audiences closer to the heart of classical music. Camerata New England performs in large and small chamber groups to offer communities in and around New England access to high quality, professional, live musical experiences. Concerts are known for their quality, power and beauty.

Brazilian violinist Omar Guay has performed throughout Brazil as well as the U.S., Europe, Taiwan, Kenya and the Seychelles. He has been a featured soloist with the Brazilian, Compinas, Goiania, Minas Gerais, Claudio Santora National Theater, Sao Paulo University, Sao Paulo Municipal and the State of Sao Paulo symphony orchestras, as well as the Amazonas Philharmonic, Petrobras Pro-Musica, Experimental Repertoire and the Manhattan School of Music.

Linda Galvan, principal cello, received a bachelor’s degree in music performance and a performer’s certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Ronald Leonard. As a Fulbright scholar, she studied with Maurice Gendron in Germany and remained in Europe as first solo cello with the National Ballet and Dance Theater of the Netherlands and as a member of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. Performances have taken her throughout Europe, Canada and the U.S. After performing with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Galvan moved to New England, where she is an active teacher and performer in recital as a guest soloist and as a principal cellist with Camerata New England and the Eleva Chamber Players.

Pianist Evelyn Zuckerman is a graduate of the Juilliard School with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano. She has performed on piano and harpsichord with the Boston, San Jose, and the Honolulu symphony orchestras, the Boston Pops and Hanover Chamber Orchestra. She is a former member of the Boston Musica Viva, performing contemporary chamber music throughout New England including at the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College. With that group, she made a number of recordings and toured Europe. She has taught at Tufts University and the New England Conservatory of Music.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for those younger than 18.
