Jonah Martin led the Raiders (3-9) with four hits, while Dalton Therrien drove in three runs on two hits. Caleb Morrissette also contributed with two hits for Oak Hill. 

The Falcons (4-8) were paced by Jon Adley with three hits and three RBIs, while Cameron Gadbois and JT Greene each pounded out two hits.

Winthrop 16, Telstar 2 (5 inn.)

WINTHROP — Bennett Brooks scattered seven hits and drew ample run support as Winthrop overpowered Telstar 16-2 in a baseball tilt Wednesday.

Jacob Hickey led the Ramblers (4-7) with three hits and three RBIs, while Brooks helped his own cause with two hits and two RBIs. Catcher Matt Ingram also contributed with two hits and two RBIs. 

Tanner Wheeler led the Rebels (3-9) with three hits, while Russ Cushman pounded out two hits.

Edward Little 7, Brunswick 1

AUBURN — Damien St. Pierre scattered six hits and had nine strikeouts Wednesday as Edward Little cruised to a 7-1 victory over Brunswick in Class A South baseball action. 

Tyler Blanchard led the undefeated Red Eddies (12-0) with two hits and two RBIs, while Drew Lashua drove in two runs on three hits. Jarod Norcross-Plourde also contributed with two hits and two RBIs.  

Brett McMillan led the struggling Dragons (2-11) with two hits in the contest. 

Monmouth 9, Wiscasset 4

MONMOUTH — Monmouth erupted for five runs in the third inning and went on to record a convincing 9-4 victory over Wiscasset in baseball action Wednesday.

Gage Cote and Hunter Richardson led the undefeated Mustangs (12-0) with two hits apiece, while Chandler Harris scattered eight hits en route to notching the mound win. 

Darren Woods led the Wolverines (5-7) with three hits, while Grant Hefler and Connor Ranta each belted out two hits. 

Greely 5, Gray-New Gloucester 0

GRAY — Ryan Twitchell hurled a no-hitter on Wednesday as Greely shut down Gray-New Gloucester 5-0 in a lopsided baseball matchup. 

Matthew Pisini led Greely with three hits and two RBIs, while Austin Nowinski belted out two hits. 

Josiah Rottari went the distance for Gray-New Gloucester (3-9) and suffered the loss.

Mt. Blue 4, Mt. Aararat 0

TOPSHAM — Ryan Pratt threw a three-hit shutout and had three hits as Mt. Blue (2-10) smoked Mt. Ararat 4-0 in a baseball game Wednesday.

Sean Testa, Miles Pelletier and David McDonald each had two hits. The Cougars used 12 hits against Mt. Ararat (5-7).

Dirigo 15, Boothbay 2

DIXFIELD — Senior pitcher Gavin Arsenault contributed to his cause with a second-inning grand slam as Dirigo jettisoned Boothbay 15-2 in baseball action Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore short stop Luke Lueders aided the offensive onslaught with two hits, two RBIs and two runs for the Cougars (7-5).

Justin Babcock doubled in a pair of runs in the third inning for the Seahawks (1-10).

Freeport 9, Poland 0

POLAND — Senior Caiden Shea went 3-for-3 and scored twice as Freeport sailed to a 9-0 victory over Poland in baseball action Wednesday afternoon.

The game remained competitive through six innings before the Falcons (7-5) rattled off five runs in the seventh frame. Jack Davenport contributed three hits and two runs for Freeport as well.

Gowain was 1-for-2 on hits and stolen bases for the Knights (2-12).

Spruce Mountain 8, Belfast 4

BELFAST — Spruce Mountain erupted for seven runs in the seventh inning to seal a 8-4 victory over Belfast in softball action Wednesday. 

Alex Bessey scattered five hits for the Phoenix (4-7) to earn the win. Hailee Perkins, Haley Turcotte and Julie Doiron each belted out two hits in the contest.  

Belfast (3-8) jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the first frame before the offense fell flat. 

Edward Little 12, Brunswick 0

AUBURN — Sarah Hammond hurled five innings of one-hit softball Wednesday as Edward Little rolled to a 12-0 rout over Brunswick in Class A South action.

Jordyn Reynolds led the Red Eddies with three hits, while Emmy Lashua, Taylor Depot, Kylie Bureau and Karli Stubbs all pounded out two hits.

Shea Sullivan went the distance for Brunswick (2-11) and suffered the loss.  
Softball

Oxford Hills 9, Lawrence 1

PARIS — Erin Morton paced the way for the Oxford Hills Vikings offense, driving in two runs in Oxford Hills’ 9-1 victory over the Lawrence Bulldogs on Wednesday. She also had a double and a single.

The Vikings (7-4-1) jumped out to the 6-0 lead after two innings when they scored twice in the first and four times in the second. They added a run in the fifth and two more in the the sixth.

In addition to Morton, Kenzie Kahkonen, Anna Piirainen and McKayla Starbird each had a pair of hits.

Haley Holt had two of the five Bulldogs'(8-5) hits, which included a double. Lawrence scored in the top of the fourth inning.

Skowhegan 4, Lewiston 1

LEWISTON — Sydney Reed and winning pitcher Annie Worther each hammered out two-run homers, leading Skowhegan to a 4-1 victory over Lewiston (7-6) in a softball game Wednesday.

Worther was also strong in the circle, striking out 11 batters.

For Lewiston, Jordan Mynahan doubled and had three hits. Megan Theriault had two.

Winslow 3, Leavitt 1

WINSLOW — Hillary Libby had a double and earned the mound win as Winslow secured a 3-1 victory over Leavitt in softball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Black Raiders (9-1) scored two of their runs on errors. Junior catcher Kiana Richards contributed two hits, while third baseman Paige Veilleux made several sensational plays on defense.

Junior pitcher Abby Robertson had a fine outing for the Hornets (6-6), giving up just five hits.

Dirigo 12, Boothbay 0

DIXFIELD — Mariah Lafleur posted four hits, including a triple, as Dirigo blanked Boothbay 12-0 in softball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars started off slow, but turned up the tempo in the later innings, scoring five runs in the final frame. Emma Lueders contributed three hits, including a double for Dirigo.

Tori Morin and ReAnna Heino provided the only hits for the Seahawks.

Madison 14, St. Dom’s 2

MADISON — Three Bulldog players tallied two hits each as Madison overcame St. Dom’s 14-2 in softball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs posted five runs in the first inning.

The Saints put two runs on the board in the third innings and recorded four hits.

Edward Little 8, Oxford Hills 6

AUBURN — Francesca-Beth Haines scored three goals and Haley Frolich added two as Edward Little (3-5) shook off Oxford Hills (1-6) with an 8-6 victory in girls’ lacrosse Wednesday.

Elizabeth Castro, Kaylee Jipson and Megan Steele each scored a goal for the Red Eddies.

For the Vikings, Jayra Bray scored two goals and Arianna Greene, Hannah Hartnet and Haley Wakefield each added a goal.

The Red Eddies have now won three games in a row.

St. Dom’s 16, Lincoln Academy 1

AUBURN — Caroline Gastonguay scored seven goals as St. Dom’s grabbed a 16-1 win over Lincoln Academy in girls’ lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon.

The Saints received offensive support from Elizabeth Perkins and Rileigh Stebbins with three goals apiece.
