JAY — Kortney McKenna roped a triple and secured the mound win for Lincoln Academy in a 4-3 triumph over Spruce Mountain in softball action Saturday afternoon.
The Phoenix (5-8) attempted a last-inning rally with three runs, but came up short. Morgan Dalton had a pair of hits and Haley Turcotte cracked a double for Spruce Mountain.
McKenna truck out seven for the complete game win for the Eagles (7-7).

Oklahoma State 10, UMaine 1
ORONO — Janelle Bouchard ended her UMaine softball career by going 2-for-3 and driving in Maine’s first-ever run in NCAA Regional action, but the Black Bears came up short, dropping their second game to Oklahoma State, 10-1.
Erika Leonard and Alyssa Derrick eacha dded hits for the America East Champion Black Bears, who ended the 2016 season 28-21 overall.
Maine plated its first run of the tournament, and its first in regional play history, in the bottom of the fourth.
Leonard’s bloop single to right field broke up Oklahama State’s no-hitter. Leonard advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Rachel Carlson before coming in to score on Boucahrd’s RBI single to center.
