AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will kick off its 2016 Teen Summer Reading Program with “My Spirit for Sport” from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, in the Androscoggin Community Room.
Swimmer and triathlete Angela Bancroft will share her story of starting out as a swimmer at age 8 to being a three-time competitor at the Ironman World Championships. She’ll share a look at her race history, what it took to get to that level, challenges she overcame and lessons she learned along the way.
This year’s theme is Get in the Game: READ!
Attention will be focused on mind and body wellness.
Readers will receive a prize for every five books they read, up to 15 books.
Each program readers attend earns an entry into the grand prize drawing. Programs include yoga, smoothie-making, journaling, gaming, movies and a step count challenge.
The Pizza & Pages Summer Reading Group will read “The Running Dream” by Wendelin van Draanen, “Whale Talk” by Chris Crutcher and “Heat” by Mike Lupica.
The Teen Summer Reading Program is for ages 12 to 18.
