RUMFORD — Among the calls answered by the Police Department recently were:

* June 1, 8:27 a.m.: A Penobscot Street resident reported four tires on her vehicle were slashed overnight. Approximately $300 damage. Cpl. Lawrence Winson is investigating.

* May 31, 8:28 p.m.: A Waldo Street resident reported the theft of jewelry. There is a suspect and Sgt. James Bernard in investigating.

* May 31, 4:12 a.m.: A 15-year-old Rumford male was arrested on a charge of burglary of a motor vehicle on Hancock Street. He was released to his mother with conditions.

* May 30, 11 p.m.: Patrolman James McLamb discovered graffiti painted at Hosmer Field. The incident is under investigation.

* May 31, 12:05 a.m.: Jesse McClay, 28, of Rumford was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, refusing to submit to arrest or detention and disorderly conduct. He was transported to Oxford County Jail. McClay has a Rumford court date of July 11 at 8:30 a.m.

* May 30, 5:02 p.m.: Luis A. Rivera, 31, of Dixfield was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Briggs on River Street on a charge of violating conditions of release. Rivera was transported to the Oxford County Jail and given a July 11 Rumford court date.

* May 27, 8:49 p.m.: Heather Mims, 39, of Rumford was arrested and charged with operating under the influence. She was released on $800 unsecured bail and is to appear in court July 11.

* May 26, 11:59 p.m.: Peter W. Cole, 44, of Rumford was arrested on charges of public drinking and disorderly conduct. He was released on $300 unsecured bail and is to appear in a Rumford court July 11.

* May 23, 12:01 a.m.: Luis Rivera, 32, of Canton was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release. He was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

* May 22, 3:18 p.m.: A 17-year-old female was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Briggs on a charge of domestic assault. She was was conditionally released by a juvenile community corrections officer and is to appear in court July 25.
