LEWISTON — Paintings by Auburn artist Debra Trafton will be on display through the end of the month at the Central Maine Medical Center Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery.
Trafton’s painting style conveys the splendor and distinctiveness of monumental architecture, landscapes and captivating figures. She articulates details in full resolution while letting others meld in an atmospheric impressionism.
Using acrylic, watercolor and metal leaf on large and small-scale canvas, wood, or paper, she gracefully applies sumptuous strokes of color to create a cavernous sense of space, accentuating notable architectural elements. Light plays a vital role in each composition.
Trafton holds a bachelor’s degree in art. She accepted an artist residency in Naples, Italy, during the summer of 2015 and has been exhibiting internationally. Her works are collected commercially and individually globally.
