LISBON — Voters on Tuesday approved a $15.18 million school budget and a $138,640 adult education budget for 2016-17. The vote was 284-175.
While the total amount is about the same as the previous year’s budget, it requires an additional nearly $500,000 to be raised by taxpayers.
Of the voters who voted against the budget, 73 said it was too low, 122 said it was too high.
Asked if they wanted to continue the school budget referendum process, 383 voted yes, 70 voted no.
A total of 463 Lisbon residents cast ballots Tuesday of the town’s 6,445 registered voters.
