MECHANIC FALLS — Voters on Tuesday approved a proposed $2.4 million municipal budget.

All 34 articles passed by comfortable margins, according to Town Manager Koriene Low.

The budget is about $21,000 less than this fiscal year. Combined with the results of the vote on Regional School Unit 16’s budget, residents will see a slight decrease in this year’s tax bills.

Voters also chose municipal officials, all of whom were running uncontested.

Re-elected were town councilors Lou Annance, with 121 votes, and Stephen Bolduc, with 115 votes.

Re-elected to the RSU 16 board of directors were Mary Martin, with 125 votes, and Aaron Ouellette, with 198 votes.

Re-elected as sanitary district trustees were Michael Baird, with 116 votes, and Gary Purington, with 129 votes.

Low said 150 residents cast ballots Tuesday, compared to 153 last year.
