BANGOR, Maine (AP) — A judge has set bail at $10,000 for a 22-year-old Maine man charged in a crash in Milford that killed his elder brother.

WABI-TV reports Greenfield resident Nicholas Spencer has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated operating under the influence for the Feb. 24 crash that killed 28-year-old Matthew Spencer.

Police say Nicholas Spencer was speeding when he lost control of his pickup truck and hit a pole. The vehicle flipped over and caught fire.

Spencer and his 29-year-old cousin, Samuel Ketch, were injured.

Prosecutors say Spencer was convicted of misdemeanor OUI in 2013.

It wasn’t immediately known if Spencer had a lawyer. His father pleaded for a lower bail, saying Spencer didn’t just lose his brother but also his best friend.
