FARMINGTON — A Farmington man was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of aggravated trafficking of Suboxone.
David Engler, 32, was arrested by Farmington Police Officer Michael Lyman on a warrant following an investigation that started last fall.
Police said it is an aggravated charge because Engler was trafficking the drug at an apartment building on Silver Maple Lane and in the parking lot of the Department of Health and Human Services off Farmington Falls Road. The DHHS lot is near Hippach Field, a park where children frequently gather and an area considered a drug-free zone.
From the investigation, Engler’s girlfriend, Krista Brown, was arrested Aug. 29 and indicted in February on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and conspiracy to commit trafficking from July 1 to Aug. 28, 2015. Brown pleaded guilty in June, Sgt. Eddie Hastings said.
After her arrest, the couple moved from their Silver Maple Lane address and police continued gathering information before charging Engler.
Engler was taken to Franklin County Detention Center where bail was set at $25,000.
