LIVERMORE FALLS — There will be a special town meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Town Office to decide how to fix the fire station.
Due to structural problems, last fall the town’s insurance company refused to insure the fire station until repairs were made. Equipment was then moved to Jay Fire Station No. 2 and a garage at the junction of Karn Road and Route 133 in Livermore Falls.
Residents will be asked to allow selectmen to:
• Borrow an amount not to exceed $1,500,000 to build a new fire station;
• Borrow an amount not to exceed $1,350,000 to remodel and expand the current fire station, if the previous article fails; and
• Borrow up to $1,100,000 to repair the current fire station, only if the previous two articles fail.
