CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Boston-based blues band, Erin Harpe and the Delta Swingers will kick off the all-new Summer Outdoor Concert Series at Sugarloaf, Friday, June 24, with a performance at 7 p.m. The new series will feature three free shows by up-and-coming New England artists throughout the summer.

Erin Harpe and the Delta Swingers will bring the soulful sounds of vintage 1930s Mississippi delta blues, infused with cords of soul, funk and reggae genres to Sugarloaf’s outdoor stage. No stranger to the Sugarloaf area, Harpe has performed at the resort with her psychedelic pop-rock band, Lovewhip, during the winter months.

Since forming in 2010, the blues quartet’s list of accolades include four-time Boston Blues Challenge winners, two-time International Blues Challenge semi-finalists, in addition to being ranked among 2013’s “30 Women Burning up the Blues” by Alternative Route Magazine. Their latest album, “Love Whip Blues,” has also been featured on SeriusXM’s Bluesville station.

Country-rock quartet Girls Guns and Glory will be the second of three performances in the all-new concert series, with a free live show on Saturday, July 23.

Winner of the 2013 Boston Music Award, Girls Guns and Glory has garnered a significant nationwide following through a rigorous touring schedule, the release of four critically acclaimed records, in addition to claiming many local and international awards. The four-man-band’s Boston-bred Americana sound combines traditional country cords with authentic Honky Tonk and early rock ‘n’ roll.

Maine-made Tricky Britches will be the third and final act in the series, with a performance on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The three shows are free for all ages and begin at 7 p.m.

No outside alcohol may be brought into the venue, and all bags and coolers are subject to search.
