RANGELEY — “Why Do Fools Fall In Love” is the first community theater presentation of the season by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts.

The musical comedy will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, June 30 and July 1, 2 and 4, at Lakeside Theater.

The story is set at an impromptu bachelorette party where best friends dive into age-old questions about love, marriage and the overwhelming dating game. Featuring pop-hits from the 1960s such as “My Boy Lollipop,” “I Will Follow Him” and “Hey There Lonely Boy,” this show reaffirms that during life’s struggles, true friendship will unveil its everlasting strength.

The cast includes Genevieve Burgess, Brenda Honey-Rogers, Jessica Shaw and Erin Smith. The band includes Sue Downes-Borko, Connor Ellis, Tim Wallace and Derek Wendelken.

Director is Valerie Zapolsky, music director is Sue Downes-Borko, and producer is Millie Hoekstra.

The new Lobby Gallery will have its inaugural exhibit: the Local Artists Gallery. Work by over 15 artists will be showcased before and after the performances and during intermission each night.

Reserved seating tickets are $15 and are available online at www.rangeleyarts.org, or at the Lakeside Theater box office, 2493 Main St., Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
