FARMINGTON — Directors of Regional School Unit 9 met for two hours Tuesday night but did not come up with a revised 2016-17 budget to present to voters.
Another meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, in the Forum at the Mt. Blue Campus.
The first budget proposal of $32.97 million presented to voters June 14 was rejected, 1,518 to 1,655. It was $929,273 more than the current budget, which covers the fiscal year ending June 30.
Once the board sets a proposed budget, it is expected to go to a districtwide budget vote at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 14, in the Bjorn Auditorium at Mt. Blue Campus in Farmington. The proposed spending package for 2016-17 would then go to a validation referendum at the polls in all 10 towns Thursday, July 28.
