UPDATE: The Scarborugh police tweeted, “We had been searching for an armed male in the woods in the area of Payne and Cummings. The male is now in custody.”

SCARBOROUGH — Police say they are searching for the suspect who led police on a chase and caused a multi-vehicle crash in Scarborough. The suspect then fled on foot.

The suspect was last seen running behind Fairfield Inn toward the Maine Turnpike off of Payne Road. 

Dozens of officers are searching for the suspect.
