LEWISTON — A woman killed in a single-vehicle crash on Pond Road on Saturday was identified Sunday as Estelle Martel, 74, of Lewiston, according to Police Sgt. Wayne Clifford.

Her husband, Normand Martel, 80, was driving the couple’s RAV 4 at about 5 p.m. when it struck a tree on the side of the road before flipping and coming to rest on its side.

Normand Martel was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

Clifford said the crash was still under investigation.
