OXFORD — The Dallas Police Officer’s Association will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from The High Ryder Golden Oldies Show and costume contest,  set for Tuesday, July 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Anderson-Staples American Legion, 169 King St.

Five police officers from the Dallas PD were killed last Thursday by a sniper, and despite the short notice, the post really want to do something to help, Rich Nugent, Anderson-Staples American Legion post service officer, said.

Benefits usually go to the legion community and veterans programs.

Participants are encouraged to come in 50s and 60s style clothing.
