The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation was established to honor Thomas Lahey, an outstanding Lewiston High School athlete and successful businessman who died October 3, 1987. The purpose of the Foundation is to assist local youth in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic and cultural activities. Since its inception in 1987, the Foundation has awarded to graduates of Lewiston High School, Edward Little High School and St. Dominic Academy more than $250,000 in scholarships.
The Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Lahey Foundation Scholarships: Kyleigh Letourneau, LHS, attending Old Dominion University; Corey Martin, LHS, attending the University of Maine; Olivia Paione, ELHS, attending the University of Maine; Matthew Chase, St Doms, attending Bryant University; Jessica Boulet, St Doms, attending Clark University; and Michael Bryant, St Doms, attending Bryant University.
The 28th Annual Lahey Golf Tournament is being held on Friday, July 15 at the Fox Ridge Golf Course. The Committee members are: Bert Cote (Chairperson), Michael Lahey, Fred Hall, Jr., Donna Giroux, Scott Cote, and Michael Lapointe. The Golf Tournament and the Bowling Tournament (Co-Chaired by Fred Hall, Sr. and Ernie Ashton) are the major fundraising events of the Foundation.
