AUBURN — Route 4 was blocked off near the Turner line Monday afternoon because diesel from a truck leaked onto the roadway.

Police Sgt. Matt Daley said the truck “snapped a drag shaft which punctured the fuel tank,” leaking almost 70 gallons of diesel. 

He said the road was closed while police and the Auburn Highway Department cleaned up the scene, which was called in at 1:47 p.m.

The incident was under investigation by the State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit.
