LIVERMORE FALLS — Livermore Falls residents will gather at the Town Office Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 p.m. for a special town meeting to address several warrant articles that failed to pass at the June annual town meeting.
The amounts of the warrant articles, and the amounts that were on the failed articles, are listed below:
• Article 2: Shall the town raise and appropriate $27,855 for elected officials?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $27,850
The article’s amount at the June town meeting was $38,350. Selectmen will be receiving $5 for the year instead of $10,500 that was included in the original article.
• Article 3: Shall the town raise and appropriate $215,680 for administration?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $203,203
The article’s amount at the June town meeting was $213,080.
• Article 4: Shall the town raise and appropriate $415,807 for the police department?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $418,574
The article’s amount at the June town meeting was $429,528.
• Article 5: Shall the town raise and appropriate $338,900 for Public Works?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $320,700
The article’s amount at the June town meeting was $348,900.
• Article 6: Shall the town raise and appropriate $8,970 for General Assistance?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $7,150
The article’s amount was the same at the June town meeting.
• Article 7: Shall the town raise and appropriate $378,355 for insurances?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $324,755
The article’s amount at the June town meeting was $388,355.
• Article 8: Shall the town raise and appropriate $40,960 for capital improvements?
Selectboard recommendation: Yes
Budget Committee recommendation: $37,960
The article’s amount at the June town meeting was $47,960.
In addition to these articles, there will be an article asking voters to withdraw $60,000 from the General Fund Balance to lower the 2016-17 tax commitment. Citizens will also be asked to raise and appropriate $40,000 for the Livermore Falls Omnibus Development Municipal Tax Increment Financing District.
