UNITY (AP) — Maine State Police say a 20-year-old passenger in a pickup truck has died after it struck a utility pole in Unity.

Police say Harold Fickett III of Clifton died at the scene off of Route 9 just after 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver and another passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a chocolate Labrador retriever named Josie ran off from the crash site. Residents who see the dog should call the public safety dispatch center in Augusta.

Police are investigating the crash.
