MEXICO – The Police Department responded to the following incidents recently:

* Aug. 9, 5:27 p.m.: A Pine Street resident reported someone slashed a tire on their vehicle and siphoned gas from it. Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said his officers have a suspect.

* Aug. 11, 1:58 a.m.: A Roxbury Road resident said he caught people attempting to break into his vehicle. Hodsdon said the man chased the suspects away.

* Aug. 11, 10:58 p.m.: A Main Street business reported someone stole pills from one of their employee’s purses while she was working. Hodsdon said he has a suspect.

* Aug. 12, 7 a.m.: A Mexico business reported receiving counterfeit bills. “We received a rash of counterfeit bills this summer, and made a couple of arrests,” Hodsdon said. “We’re not sure if this is related to that, but we’re going to keep looking into it.”

* Aug. 13, 2:04 a.m.: A Swett Avenue resident reported someone tried to break into their garage. The suspect fled before police arrived. Hodsdon said the suspect was wearing dark-colored clothing.

* Aug. 13, 11:04 p.m.: A Roxbury Road resident reported somebody forcibly entered their home and stole medication. Police have a suspect, Hodsdon said.

* Aug. 15, 3:19 p.m.: A Rumford resident reported he was scammed out of more than $9,000. Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said the man bought stamps for $9,000 after being told they were worth $40,000. The resident later discovered the stamps were stolen. Hodsdon said police have a suspect.
