NORWAY — On Saturday, September 24, the Tour De O’Hills Nordic Bike Race is coming back to Norway. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. It will include a 10 mile course through the scenic hills of Norway, and a shorter three mile loop designed for novice bikers and older children. Both will be well marked and easy to follow. The race will start and end at the Gouin Field in Paris. Registration is open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. the day of the race. The cost will be $25 for adults and $20 for those 17 and under.

Pre-registration is $20 for adults, and $15 for those 17 and younger. To register before the race, you can go online to bikereg.com/tour-de-ohills-nordic-bike-race, or pick up forms at Cafe Nomad, Green Machine Bike Shop, Pro Vision Center or Happi Chicks Bake Shop. Race t-shirts will also be available for $10. The race will be in a time-trial/interval start format, and helmets are required for all riders.

This first Tour De O’Hills was in 2014, and was a great success, thanks to the sponsors, riders and volunteers! The proceeds of this race benefits the Oxford Hills High School’s Nordic Ski Team, and will help pay for their trip to Fort Kent for advanced training. This trip helps the skiers, especially new ones, get a grip on technique early on in the season. The five days of all day training are equal to 26 after-school practices. We are still looking for sponsors for the race, and any amount you can donate will help.

If you would like to make a donation to help get the team back to Fort Kent, please contact Morgen Ray at [email protected]
