GREENE — Banjoist Peter Mezoian will perform at 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the Araxine Wilkins Sawyer Memorial.

“I owe a great deal of my career to Don Van Palta, a fantastic banjoist whom I first met in 1985 at the Araxine Wilkins Sawyer Memorial,” he said.

From that encounter, Mezoian was able to spend one week studying with Van Palta and it became his passion and goal to have his own stage show. In 1990, Mezoian began his full-time career as a guest entertainer in the cruise ship industry. Contracts with Regency Cruises, Royal Cruise Lines, Royal Viking and Cunard Line, to name a few, have taken him to ports all over the world.
