LIVERMORE — Selectpersons voted to hire Sherry Baker, Rhonda Couture and Desiree Dubreuil as temporary office workers.
Voters in June approved money to hire temporary office help.
At the last selectpersons’ meeting, Administrative Assistant/Treasurer Amy Byron said she, Town Clerk Renda Guild and Deputy Clerk Jean Tardif had come up with three people who would consider the position. The three applied and were interviewed by the office staff.
Byron requested that all three candidates be hired. They will be available to fill in and do different tasks.
“All three have different abilities and training,” Byron said.
Selectperson Tom Gould said he thought it was a good idea to have a pool of people to call on when temporary help is needed in the office.
The starting pay for the office temp positions is $9 per hour.
In other business, Byron said she found a company in Oxford County that had the large container needed at the Transfer Station. Oxford County Recycling has voted to dissolve and Transfer Station Superintendent Juanita Jordan-Bryant said the town might need the container to store television sets and other items until they can be picked up, Byron said.
Money for the container was budgeted last year.
Byron said the Oxford County company sells the containers for $2,800 but would drop the price to $2,500 for Livermore. The container would be delivered by the end of the week for an additional $200, she said.
Selectpersons voted unanimously to do so.
