WILTON — Police say a Wilton man is charged with choking a person during a domestic incident.
Jason Jarvis, 30, of 14 Depot St. was arrested Sunday on a charge of aggravated assault and a charge of domestic violence terrorizing, Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.
Wilton officer Ethan Kyes was called to the Depot Street home at about 10 a.m. by a person who was trying to retrieve property, Wilcox said. Kyes discovered an assault had taken place and because the victim had been choked, the charge is a Class B felony. A conviction carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Jarvis remained at Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington on Tuesday.
