AUBURN — A boy was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle at 5:12 p.m. Sunday, according to Auburn Police Sgt. Jason Moore.

Jessie Merrill, 31, of Auburn was driving her 2015 Hyundai south on Goff Street when the 14-year-old boy, whose name was not released, rode his bicycle from between two parked cars in the area of 120 Goff St. and Merrill was unable to avoid hitting him, Moore said.

The boy rolled up into the windshield but was not seriously injured, Moore said.

Auburn Rescue took him to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston for evaluation after he complained of leg pain.

Merrill was not injured, Moore said. The hood and front bumper of her car were heavily damaged and the windshield was pushed in.
