FARMINGTON — Acoustic Eidolon will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Old South First Congregational Church, 235 Main St.

Acoustic Eidolon of Colorado features duo Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire.

Scott plays a dos neckie, or “double-necked guitjo,” which he designed and had made in 1991. The unique design has seven banjo-like bottom strings on which the melody is played, with seven top bass strings.

Phoenix, as Alkire fondly calls her cello, was wrecked in a plane crash before it was rebuilt in 2005.

Their performances are filled with a variety of styles and original songs about life, family and favorite places, as well as their renditions of favorites like “Stairway to Heaven” and “Eleanor Rigby.” They have performed all over the world at area venues and with symphony orchestras.

The Old South Church-based InnerRhythm, the women’s frame drum group, will host a drum circle at 6:30 p.m. Instruments will be provided and no experience is required. All ages are welcome. The circle will be capped off with a solo performance on tambourine by the drummers.

In their 10 years of learning and playing together, the women of InnerRhythm have played for worship services, gallery openings, downtown festivals and art walks. Members are Sheri Jenckes, Sheri Leahan, Donna Wheeler, Mardy Bogar, Fran Addicott and Karyl Condit.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Cost is $20, and a discount is available for students with IDs. Refreshments are by donation.

To reserve tickets, call 207-491-5919 or 207-778-0111.
