BIDDEFORD — The Olive Garden restaurant in Biddeford has closed, putting about 60 people out of work.

A message on the restaurant’s telephone says it has been “permanently closed.” Hunter Robinson, a spokesman for the company, said the “difficult decision” was made to close effective Saturday.

Robinson said the company will work with an Olive Garden and Longhorn restaurants in the area to find jobs for the former workers.

Olive Garden opened in Biddeford in 2007.
