LIVERMORE FALLS — The 19th Annual Apple-Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24, will feature a new event — a Nerf gun tent.
Christine Fournier, administrative assistant for the Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce, said those wishing to play will be provided with guns, ammunition and safety goggles. The number of people allowed to play at once and the time allotted may need to be capped. A small fee will be charged, she said.
The festival is sponsored by the chamber and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Recreation Field.
Berry Fruit Farm will have apples and pumpkins for sale. Area children’s museums, the Jay-Niles Library, local businesses and several crafters are coming, Fournier said. Mexican food, snow cones, popcorn and baked goods will also be for sale.
Shadow Hill Farm will bring its alpacas and Rite Aid will offer flu shots. The rock climbing wall and the Tiger slide will be back, Fournier said.
Musical entertainment will be part of the festival too, Fournier said. Performers include L & D Country at 10 a.m., followed by Off The Hill Band, Malinda Liberty and Frank Coffin, and Paul Bright and Shiloh Creek.
“We’ll be there in the sun,” Fournier said.
There is no rain date.
Festival sponsors include Otis Federal Credit Union, PalletOne of Maine, Franklin Savings Bank, Spruce Mountain Pharmacy, Main-Land Development Consultants Inc., Crayon Country Developmental Preschool, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and Whittemore Realty Group, Fournier said.
