AUBURN — On Thursday, Sept. 29, Cafe LA will host its biweekly Comic Showcase at 8 p.m. The night will start and end with local homegrown talent.

Ben Roberts, originally of Lewiston, will host and open the night. Proud to be living in Leeds, he has been performing all over central and southern Maine for more than three years, including this past summer’s Portland Comedy Festival.

Andrew Rasmussen, Mike Gray, Krystal Kamenides, Joe Ellis and Ali Simpson will bring their humor to the middle of the line-up. Be prepared for some sass, crass, dark with snark and even cute jokes.

Auburn native Joe Deschaine just came home from time in California’s Humboldt County, where he was voted its “Hardest Working Comic.”

His performances include shows at multiple comedy festivals on both sides of the country, and at “To Catch a Rising Star.” He has even opened for Hank Williams III.

Cafe LA is located at 49 Spring St. Reservations are recommended 784-2300.
