LEWISTON — “Oracle” author Cate Marvin will read her poetry at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Bates College’s Literary Arts Live series.

The event will take place in Pettengill Hall, Room G52, 4 Andrews Road (Alumni Walk), Lewiston.

Marvin is a visiting professor at Colby College in Waterville. 

A Publishers Weekly review of her 2015 collection “Oracle” said Marvin weaves “vivid, uncanny lines amid narrative, confessional poems that attempt to shed light on various forms of violence … against women.”

The reading is free and open to the public.
