Five watches, aggregating in value about $15, were stolen from the Palace pool room, Lisbon Street, Tuesday night. Boys are blamed for the larceny and it is thought they had a watch placed on the patrolman on that beat. Officer Crowley had been warned of the fact that the windows at the rear of the pool room were left open each night. While making a trip through the alley he found a street light out. By the light of his electric torch he saw that the lamp had been removed from the socket. He became suspicious and kept a close watch on the alley. At ten o’clock he went to Union Square while the out of town cars were coming in and it is thought that the break was committed at that time. Officer Crowley saw several boys running down Lisbon street alley but they eluded him. Entrance was gained by means of a ladder which had been left near the exterior of the building.
