Laurie Babineau, a pyrographic artist is L/A Arts’ current exhibitor in the Art & Ale window at Gritty’s McDuff’s for the month of November.  A Hartford resident, Babineau is a long-time artist of many different mediums. Two years ago she rediscover pyrography, the art of wood burning after seeing some amazing work by another local artist. Her subject inspiration stems from history, fantasy, classical and current events. Babineau holds a bachelor’s of fine arts in sculpture from Maine College of Art and uses some sculptural aspects in her wood-burnings. Babineau and her work may be found at many local fairs and festivals around the state. Gritty’s is on the corner of South Maine and Court streets in Auburn.
