LIVERMORE FALLS — Police said a Livermore Falls man was assaulted and robbed of money and marijuana at a residence in the upper Church Street area Wednesday night.

Officers arrested Duane Hanson, 27, of Livermore Falls on a charge of burglary and Felicia Jewell, 29, of Livermore Falls on a charge of hindering apprehension, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

Police plan to talk with a third person in the incident, he said.

Police received a call at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday of a disturbance and when Livermore Falls police officer Troy Reed and Lt. Joseph Sage arrived they found a man who was bleeding. He told them he had been assaulted and robbed after going to a residence to visit friends, Steward said. The man identified the people involved.

A substantial amount of cash along with marijuana was taken from the victim, Steward said. The victim was taken by a NorthStar ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital where he received stitches to his forehead and was released.

Hanson and Jewell were arrested and taken to Androscoggin County Jail.

Jay Police Cpl. Jeff Fournier assisted Livermore Falls police at the scene.
