NORWAY — Starting Dec. 1, the Frost Hill Landfill on Route 117 will shut its doors for at least a year to save money.
Warren Sessions Jr., manager of Norway-Paris Solid Waste, said the board is experimenting with using the transfer station at 39 Brown St. to collect debris.
“We’re just trying to save the taxpayers some money,” he said.
Sessions said two more containers will be added to the station, where people can leave their construction debris and other materials that are considered landfill.
After the year is up, Sessions said, the board will determine if Frost Hill should reopen, or if people will continue leaving their debris at the Brown Street station.
