DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Dec. 7, the day the world changed 75 years ago, I was sitting on the rug in fading sunlight listening to music with my family. What were you doing? We know what the veterans were soon to be about, but what about the civilians who were alive then? Where were you? How did life change? Who left? Who came back? How did work change? Drop me a line by email, [email protected]. The lives of those who stayed home changed, too. Tell me about it. — Vi, no town.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your column about the remote starter. I am in need of a trusted repair person to check out mine. It worked fine until recently. I would appreciate the name of the business that the reader used so I can go there with my car. Thanks. — Rich, Monmouth.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Why does it take so long for Leavitt Area High School to post their honors in the Sun Journal? It is often months after the quarter ends that they post it. Summer was almost over and the next school year about to begin when they finally put in the end-of-year honors; I believe it was the end of August when it finally went in. Every other high school seems to list theirs within the month of report cards being given out. I have tried inquiring on my own, leaving messages with guidance and never getting a return call. Maybe you’ll have better luck. Thank you, Sun Spots for your inquisitive mind! — No name, no town.

ANSWER: Honor rolls are published in the Sun Journal’s “Connections” section. They are prioritized for publication based on the order in which they are received. Because they tend to be quite long, it can take some time to find the space because community events are also announced in this section. Community events will generally take priority because they are time-sensitive in most cases.

Once received and processed, honor rolls are made available on SunJournal.com so they can be viewed prior to running in the paper. You can see Leavitt’s first-quarter honor roll here: www.sunjournal.com/news/connections/2016/12/01/leavitt-high-school-lists-honor-roll/2037335.
