RUMFORD — 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater will allow attendees to become part of a studio audience during its production of “Christmas Tales.”
Attendees will be welcomed by the producer of the show, Gilbert Tinsel (Scot Grassette). Gilbert quickly gets things underway by introducing some of the most recognizable Christmas characters as guests to tell their tales.
Everyone’s heard stories of Santa, but not many have heard stories of Mrs. Claus (Jen Foster), who tells her tale of traveling the world to a group of elves. Chuck Bellegarde, who plays Papa, tells the classic tale of “The Night Before Christmas” with plenty of interaction from the players. “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” has become a timeless classics and is brought to life in a fast-paced “on and off”rendition. “Elf on the Shelf” is quickly becoming a modern tradition and will be portrayed by the one and only Zac Calden.
Eighteen kids form the ensemble of elves, reindeer and other classic Christmas characters who play out the action. They are Virginia Ownings, Alana Gotto, Aubrey Gotto, Ayden Timberlake, Anthony McDonald, Clayton Swan, Kaiden Swan, David Frazel, William Frazel, Drew Quirion, Sam Quirion, Ryan Quirion, Sophie Paulin, Adalyn Provencher, Lily True, Mckayla Collins, Quin Collins and Brooke Brown.
Cindy Grassette is the director.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 16 and 17, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18. Doors open one hour before showtime for seating, socializing and snacks.
