LEWISTON — Provider Laboratory Services, 88B Oxford St., Lewiston, has been notified that it has met all criteria for laboratory accreditation by COLA, a national health care accreditation organization. Provider Laboratory Services has earned COLA accreditation as a result of its long-term commitment to provide quality services to its patients.

Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing and pass a rigorous on-site survey.

Provider Laboratory Services opened for business July 5. It performs qualitative urine drug testing. The tests screen for drugs of abuse, illicit substances as well as sample adulterants. It services physicians’ practices, sober houses, intensive outpatient programs and drug treatment facilities throughout central and southern Maine, as well as clients of the Maine DEEP program.

Provider Laboratory Services is a Maine-licensed, CLIA-registered, COLA-accredited laboratory.
